I could not agree more with the writer. Those who are dragging their heels should be charged for delaying the processes and costing the taxpayers millions.
This delay in concluding a matter is rampant in many public sectors. If an audit is done, you will see that many managers suspend staff due to wrong interpretation of the LRA. In the private sector, as you correctly mentioned, 2 weeks at the most is what it takes to conduct and investigation and determine the outcome of the alleged offence.
Such blatant waste of taxpayers’ money could easily be put towards dire service delivery needs of the masses.
